Clayfield College

It’s a new era for Clayfield College, with the school transitioning to a coeducational school and undergoing a wide variety of capital works projects and building refurbishments. Wanting to rethink their learning spaces, Clayfield College engaged Civic Australia to overhaul their science labs.

Tired and dated, the existing labs weren’t inspiring or facilitating learning with crowded desks and outdated equipment. Wanting to provide the best possible environment for learning, Civic and Clayfield worked together to create vibrant, flexible and functional learning spaces that would work for both theory and practical lessons.

Completely modular furniture was used to future-proof the labs, allowing staff to change the layout of the lab as needed. Chemical resistant laminate was essential for the science labs, with epoxy coated frames bringing structural integrity and durability whilst keeping furniture light and reconfigurable.

Each with their own bold colour palette, the new labs are vibrant and exciting, bringing life into lessons and encouraging student participation. Minimising student disruption, these labs were transformed during the school holiday period, with students enjoying the new upgrades on their return to school.

With the school welcoming more new students each term and changes happening every day, Civic Australia is excited to see how Clayfield College embraces their new parallel learning model and vibrant learning spaces. The finished labs are efficient and exciting, showcasing Civic Australia’s belief that learning spaces should be focused on student academic outcomes without sacrificing style, function or a sense of fun.
