Set on an impressive 100 acres in the heart of the Hunter Valley, St Philip’s Christian College Cessnock is a vibrant and innovative school striving to provide students with a quality education in a caring, secure and challenging learning environment.
With the students and staff quickly outgrowing the facilities, the team at St Philip’s realised they needed to come up with a plan for the future – and that plan began with a new building designed specifically for students in year 9 to 12. Desiring to create a space that gave students a sense of adulthood and maturity, the school approached Civic Australia to create furniture that supported their vision.
The furniture needed to be robust and durable, whilst modern and stylish, creating a space that feels less like a school and more like a corporate environment. Students can collaborate with teachers and peers in boardroom style meeting rooms, break away from the noise in quiet nooks designed for study or spend time laughing and having fun with friends in common areas.
The end result is a stunning senior learning space that is equipping students for their futures.
