Loreto Normanhurst had a problem. Their labs were rigid and traditional with no flexibility or opportunities for collaborative learning. The school came to Civic Australia for a complete end-to-end solution.
With a short 6 week deadline, the Civic Australia team rose to the challenge, coordinating trades and schedules to ensure the project could be completed in time.
The end result is a lab and learning space that offers superior storage and flexibility, providing endless and engaging learning opportunities for student and staff.
Step 1: Learn
In order to create a successful space, the Civic team first needed to understand what was required. Our consultant, designer and project manager sat down with staff members to identify pain points of the current design, project objectives, time and budget constraints. From there, we created preliminary design ideas that would be refined in future meetings.
Step 2: Evolve
After giving Civic Australia the information to get started, Loreto Normanhurst gathered with our team again for a detailed project briefing. This is where 3D renders, design mood boards and a colour palette was presented, allowing staff to visualise what the space would look like when completed.
Step 3: Approve
The design has been presented, the budget and timeframe has been finalised and it’s time to confirm the final details. At the approval meeting, our consultant, designer and project manager finalised the project details with the Loreto Normanhurst team. Shop drawings, detailed space planning, scope of works and supplier quotes were signed off and the construction was ready to begin.
Step 4: Deliver
Our favourite and final step of the process, it was time for the vision to become reality. The project management team worked hard to ensure the maximum amount of trades were on site as possible, sticking to the tight deadline. Just in time for the new school year, the project was officially completed on January 27th with staff and students in awe of the amount of storage and flexibility the new lab offers.
